I do. I didn’t experience it firsthand, but I live on a main artery road in my town, and it took a long time to stop tensing up whenever I heard an ambulance siren… it was an all-too-familiar sound in my neighborhood during the pandemic. Fear and anxiety were constant.

I will admit, that one tripped me up when I first saw how it was actually spelled! And I don’t usually have spelling issues.
I had a coworker who pronounced ‘orchid’ with the soft ‘ch’ instead of ‘ork-id’. More than once. 🤦🏻♀️ I quietly corrected pronounced it the right way, so she’d hear what it was supposed to be.

As an employee of one of the businesses in the Midtown Manhattan office shooting last month, I can testify that the “good guy with a gun” was the FIRST person the shooter targeted. Then he proceeded to kill more people after he took out the threat.
