I’ve been blocked by someone! First time, I think. What was my sin, you ask? He (?) tried to say that Clinton’s election was entirely her fault because of poor decisions, I pointed out that Clinton won the popular vote and her opponent cheated. I’m so evil, being aggressively accurate!
It’s pretty funny that he chose the mainstream superhero most associated with mental health problems though!
Please take the following phrase to your parents and have them explain it to you: Clinton won the popular vote and her opponent cheated.
Your statement implied that Clinton’s loss was purely her fault. I’m just pointing out that it’s not that simple. Also, if memory serves, she won the popular vote.

One of my favourite musicians has an album that features CW. I always had trouble with the track where CW tries to intellectually justify his faith with irrelevant arguments, but these days, it seems like CW just gets worse and worse. I haven’t listened to that album in years.

Are you sure he was elected? We know he cheated in 2016 (34 felonies, the plea to Russia etc), but what happened after that? You can’t be suggesting that he cheated, won, found that the FBI wouldn’t prosecute a sitting president… and then learned his lesson and decided not to do those things again

Yes, absolutely. I know that some people weren’t happy, and no movie is ever perfect, but I enjoyed better accents from the Puerto Ricans, the modern cinematography, some amazing dancing and singing, and the fact that they managed to get Rita Moreno in it again. A great balance of new and homage.
For me, the GOAT is West Side Story. I use two of the songs as references for aural training, and even that drilling of introductions hasn’t dulled the brilliance. (I also very much enjoy when someone does a modern update of a Gilbert and Sullivan musical with topical references. Any will do.)

George, your question implies an answer in the area of socialism or communism, but what Trump is doing is basically fascism. I’d love it if you could ask a question more relevant to the text.
The answer to the ? could be communism, if every citizen was paid according to their needs. But, when corporations & government collaborate to exploit citizens, which looks like what’s happening here, that’s fascism. It says a lot about US culture that communism is still the implication to demonise.

Not a lawyer (or a US citizen!), but I believe that the government can offer pardons that do and pardons that do not allow prosecution by a different level of government for the crimes in the pardon. So, it depends.

The bad news: it was always likely. The US has long had a distrust of education, which allowed Fox News etc to thrive, and strong anti authoritarian views. The good-ish news: i doubt he’d even get a true majority. With a more representative democracy, you never have to worry about his ilk.
But also, democracy is predicated on an informed populace. People should have to fill out a short multiple choice test to check that they are informed for their vote to count. Say, four simple questions, if you get one wrong then your vote is worth only three quarters of a vote.

Seeing as you used the word “afford”, I thought you might like to know that the reality isn’t as flashy looking as the image. Nobody built a whole new train for this, solar panels were mounted onto an older train. Maybe that’ll help in your push for something similar.

It runs on solar most of the time. One of the diesel engines remains on board for weight balance and as a back up.
Australian here. The train exists but that’s an AI image, it doesn’t look like that. Also, it doesn’t travel very far, most of the electricity is generated on land (although granted, mostly from solar), and it’s something to do with a resort. Our public transport saviour isn’t here yet!
