I think everyone needs to understand how government works from the inside, not just a civics or government class. They need to be part of the process. It's also why I believe we need to Uncap the House, federally fund elections, and have term limits. We need to make government more participatory.
I think everyone should do two years of mandatory service after high school, similar to how other countries have mandatory military service. You can either work in the government for two years and get two years of college paid or do two years in the military and get four years of college paid.

I only have anecdotal evidence, but where I live, in a small town in WV, doctors are in high demand. Between access to healthcare via ACA and living in a place where it can be difficult to get access to healthy food, there are a lot of health issues and people have insurance.
