I just finished watching Ted Lasso. I am now considering rewatching Servant of the People. I wonder if I will appreciate it more now during Trump’s second term.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Servant of the People, which Zelensky wrote, produced, and starred in. I think it is on Netflix still. I started watching it in March 2022 out of curiosity. I was hooked. The show makes you think. The first 2 seasons are truly funny. The third season is more serious.

I agree. Servant of the People was a funny TV show, in a sly & warm-hearted way. The show was remarkably smart. It expected its audience to be educated about world history in order to understand the historical references. It also showed potential pitfalls for democracies: oligarchs, corruption, etc.

Most people I know who voted for Trump aren't paying attention to what he is doing. They just assume Trump 2.0 is like Trump 1.0. It'll take something extreme to break through their bubble right now. However, I believe when the tariffs cause inflation Trump's popularity will slowly deflate to 25%.
Wichita Lineman & Galveston are probably his best 2 songs. However, I always enjoy listening to Gentle On My Mind. About 25 yrs ago, I had the pleasure of experiencing an impromptu Glen Campbell mini concert. He was invited onto stage, played a guitar & sang of his 3 songs. It was freaking magical.

And another thing: my friends probably won't win their elections because our town council is almost always Republicans. It is Very Important to run a Democrat for Every seat in every town in America!!! The Republicans are much better at fielding candidates for local elections. Dems need to catch up!
She doesn't agree with Dems on every issue so she thought she couldn't run as a Democrat, as if there was a purity test. Some local politicians convinced her that it was OK to disagree on a few issues. The Dems need to welcome small-c conservatived like my friends if they want to win elections!
My other friend is the daughter of a Baptist minister. She wss horrified J6 & by the cruelty of Trump/MAGA. She is a humble woman. She is a teacher, wife, & Mom. She is very religious & doesn't agree with every liberal talking point. Therefore, it took several people to convince her to run as a Dem.
I have 2 conservative friends who left the GOP after J6. Both are running for our town council as Democrats. One is a conservative, pro-life Catholic with a great job, loving husband & 4 kids. She doesn't agree with Dems on everything, but she decided she has more in common with Dems than with MAGA.
I apologize, "Coalition" might be the wrong word.
It ain't an official alliance. They weren't drafted by an NFL team & signed a contract. There are lots of conservatives who have left the Rep party but they don't feel welcomed by the Democrats. If we want to beat Trump, then we need a big tent that includes GOP voters who have soured on Trump!

Don't equate small-letter-c conservatives with Republicans. Trump isn't a conservative!
