i saw the film. i didn't like it. there was no point to it. which in itself could be the point. i also didn't like the dedication. it was only to the american. nothing for the 2 interpreters who were sent out to their deaths. i generally like garland, but this was a miss for me.

it costs the same whether they pick up trash or sit on their butts. as a veteran, i can tell you that we did this all the time because of that fact. sergeants get nervous when soldiers sit around doing nothing. it makes them look bad. "if you have time to lean, you have time to clean".
