The reality is that members of the DC National Guard are soft targets. These are people who are part time military. They train 2 days a month and 2 weeks out of the year. Compare that to DC SWAT or DC Metro Police. Someone is going to realize that and challenge their authority.

DC is a federal enclave. It isn't a testing ground for anything. DC got limited home rule only 50 years ago. Before that it was totally under the control of the federal government. Worse case DC goes back to pre-1975 federal rule, which there are people alive who remember what it was like.

DC is a federal enclave. There is no 'invasion' of US National Parks by the DC National Guard. Effectively, Trump brought in federal law enforcement to terrorize DC. There is no objective there.

SCOTUS recently insisted that parents have an extra-special right to opt out of classroom content that interferes in their religious belief. In that case it was LBGTQ content. Christians don't agree on the content of THE Bible. I see parents taking issue with a OK official version of holy text.

The intent of the law is to create a case for SCOTUS to so ... something. The text of THE 10 commandments doesn't appear in any translation of Exodus. It comes from a SCOTUS case and matches the text in laws in AR and LA. The laws even match. Schools can just silently not comply.

Yes, for a real study. This would have been in the late 60s, so I don't think the ethics were the same as today.

Yes, he absolutely needed the income. And it was more like incidentally observation. He kept a journal, but it sounded like it was about how the job changed him.

I just shaved an entire leg with the razor cap on. And now I go to work where I will dispense financial wisdom to youth and vulnerable adults.

No, Mr Robot who did not read the post. "Do Black people deserve to live in safety?" No. Because this is fucking America which has a long history of making sure that Black people do not live in safety.

Shippers did this because they were not given guidance on how to comply with the rules. This is about incompetence not that they don't want to do business with people in the USA.

Take a close look. The issue that these shippers have is that they don't know how to comply with the new rules. Had the USG simply put processes in place to collect the duties shippers would not have to punch out of the business.

A sociology professor told a story about him applying for an assembly line job when he was a grad student and getting rejected because they thought he was there to study them. He was trying to feed his family. He applied again and lied about his education. He then studied the people he worked with.

The Grand Jury is there to prevent prosecutors from abusing power. The 99% means that we have honest prosecutors. The fact they took this before 3 GJ means that we have a problem with prosecutors.

Ever notice that old white guys are allowed to speak uninterrupted? Ever see an old white guy get attacked by security for speaking out at a townhall meeting?

In Baltimore, violent crime spikes around the stadiums on game day. People who hate the city come into the city and fight with each other, then leave the city. The most dangerous place to be in Baltimore is at a O's game when they play the Yankees.
