I was raised with a 110 lb boxer named Mike. He once nosed up a second story window enough for him to jump out said window and chased two dogs out of his yard. He broke his right front leg but accomplished his objective. He waited for us to get home to get that leg set. Nothing stops a boxer.

I had distant relatives from the era of slavery who "owned" slaves. They weren't wealthy plantation owners. They had a small house, a small farm, and a small family. Yet they "owned" two human beings to work the field and do the housework. I think that 2% owning slaves is seriously underreported.

my grandmother had a huge fig tree and an Asian pear tree in her yard, and the fruit on both those trees ripened later in the summer. She would spend a couple of weeks making fig preserves and pear honey, which were both out of this world. We made an amazing fig cake from her efforts.

Preventive screenings have saved me from moving into invasive cancer twice; once through a Pap smear, and secondly, through colonoscopy. The only thing that was woke was me waking up to the importance of these screenings. Mammograms, colonoscopies, Paps--so important esp for women's health.

I have the great, but old, cat carrier that the front drops down, like a door, so that you have a wide entry for them. Bonnie fights hard--so glad we had her nails clipped recently. I'll try the fold and face maneuver in a few minutes. Fingers crossed! Thanks for the suggestion!

Glad to hear that MissyBBB had some good results from the new meds. It never hurts to have an angel on your side. I'm taking my Bonnie for an echocardiogram this afternoon--she has a heart murmur that her primary care vet said is sounding louder, so she wants to have it checked before dental work.
