Perhaps needless to say, but if this affected car drivers, it would have been fixed long ago. Because it affects second-class citizens (pedestrians, people using mobility devices, etc), it's allowed to linger.
Nobody within the regime is going to remove the idiot. So it's up to the US public to remove the entire fascist regime.

The only way state and local govts can push back effectively against the fascist tyranny is to band together and take united action, immediately. Otherwise they will fail, and fall, one by one.

Actually I do. Each election that comes around, Albertans install another bunch of nutjob politicians that are further to the right, now verging on fascist. When I lived in Alberta many years ago, it wasn't nearly like this. Over the past couple decades, it's gotten worse and worse and worse.
I've given up on Alberta and Albertans. A large majority of them are mirror images of MAGA: anti-Canadian, anti-science, oil-loving, far-right Christo-fascists. And that's being polite. ;)
And given the nearly total lack of resistance to the fascist regime so far, everyone will just behave like sheep as the brutal thugs demand ID, arrest people willynilly, and beat up and send off to concentration camps the ones they don't like the look of. The US as a land of freedom? What a joke.
