The thing to realize is that in a free society, laws are considered to be reflections of societal norms. Whereas in an authoritative society, laws are a reflection of one person's desire for power based on his/her opinion.

With a majority of scotus being loyal Trump judges, the likelihood is that they will once again claim something that is false about the constitution that miraculously gives him the power. Watch and see.

Actually, crime statistics in dictator run countries show a greater amount of crime at all levels. The dictators' loyal police tend to take bribes to look the other way or help themselves to healthy shares of the goods stolen.

Artificially conflating democrats with Republicans as to who uses and is more likely to use Russian influence to win elections show that 1) you are a republican who disguises himself as a Democrat to further republican ends, or 2) you are completely ignorant of the last 10yrs or history.

1st, I am not in congress, so my voice is just as useless as yours to make any major changes to government without voting. 2nd, there are other legal ways of removing a tyrant that are constitutional. But again it takes a majority to vote on them.

jstaceyh.bsky.social (@jstaceyh.bsky.social) reply parent
Again. You have to have the votes. Otherwise it won't happen. And since the entire republican party is opposed, and they hold the majority at least until the midterms it won't happen until the democrats can take the majority with enough votes to push it through.

jstaceyh.bsky.social (@jstaceyh.bsky.social) reply parent

My strategy is not to give up. But instead try to get a supermajority in both house and senate, failing that it might come to actual civil war. Be prepared either way. That's where I stand. Not tearing down those opposing the administration and its enablers, but preparing for certain possibilities.
jstaceyh.bsky.social (@jstaceyh.bsky.social) reply parent
Rule 9 only applies when the majority party allows it to apply. By refusing to allow a vote period. The democrats have tried and been shot down each time. The only way without civil war to get rid of Trump is to gain the majority then force the vote.

jstaceyh.bsky.social (@jstaceyh.bsky.social) reply parent
1) they do not have the numbers to impeach. Republicans have the majority and refuse to allow impeachment. 2) articles of impeachment have been introduced to the house, where the process begins, multiple times only to be shot down by the majority Republicans.

The point is that democrats are not opposed to impeaching him or prosecuting him. It's always been the republicans.
jstaceyh.bsky.social (@jstaceyh.bsky.social) reply parent
The ones who opposed impeachment the last time were the Republicans. The democrats not only impeached him twice, but if the Republicans hadn't refused to back it they would have had him criminally tried. That is factual history per house and senate records.
