I'd say it's a deliberately misleading take on possibly solid science. There is nothing wrong with women having "stronger emotional responses". Unless you think that women need to be subservient.

"Stronger emotional responses" is a) "not good", and b) "needs a warning label" I guess I read the word "stronger" much differently than these guys did.

If you're 60, 69.1% of all job growth since your birth occurred under Democratic administrations. If you're 45, that number is 74.7%. If you're under 28, the number is 100%. Happy Labor Day.

A large driver of the Democrats tacking right is the practice of so many DC staffers of basing their judgment of "what Americans think" by watching cable news while viewing FoxNews as "the right" and CNN as "the left". They have no feel for public opinion.

A Labor Day reminder: today there isn't a single city, metro area, or state in the U.S. where a full-time minimum-wage worker can afford a modest 2-bedroom apartment. Millions of people with jobs—even multiple jobs—aren't safe from homelessness in this country.

'car jackings are down' in part because traffic is down, as nobody wants to go downtown. Regardless, even if one were to stipulate "turning the city into an army base" would cut down in the number of carjackings, that doesn't make it a good idea.

BO and BIden were _aggressive_ when it came to deportations, and not only did they 'get a pass', the media a) pretended it wasn't happening, and b) helped Trump make the false accusation that they favored an 'open borders' policy.

It's worth saying, once again, that every tariff that Trump imposes is a shot in the foot. "I'm going to put tariffs on everybody and everything" is a policy that will end effect of economically isolating the US, while denying us access to the cheap imports that the economy is built on.

O’Neill, unlike Monarez, has no training in medicine or infectious disease science. He is a former speechwriter for the health department, during the Bush years, who went on to work for the tech investor and conservative megadonor Peter Thiel. During the Covid pandemic, O’Neill voiced public support for unproven treatments that were not supported by scientific evidence, including ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine, as well as vitamin D as a supposed “prophylaxis”. He also posted a number of conspiratorial theories on social media, including the baseless claim that “the name #COVID was chosen to conceal the origin of the virus. This name made it harder to study and probably slowed the response.”

The word "defying" implies he expects to have some kind of authority over them.

It would be the Center of Disease Weaponization if they weren't so incompetent.

Surely the Hudson Valley _is_ central NY. Map: ________________ |Upstate | =========== |Hudson Valley | =========== | The City | =========== 😉

It's the same serious approach to statistics when they find one undocumented alien has committed a violent crime. OK, guys, now the ratio is only 10,000:1 instead of infinity:1.

As an Irish-American from Boston, this is weird to me, too. But it's a big country.

There can’t be any gun restrictions because we have to protect against federal government tyranny, and if kids get shot we just have to live with it. Also the President can send troops to cities because the federal government can do whatever it wants. These two ideas are consistent and reasonable.

There are large regions of the US where "Catholic" is seen as distinct from "Christian". Even just among Baptists, there's a lot of variation. Which is how we ended up with Jimmy Carter leaving the Southern Baptists.

It varies from denomination to denomination. Some denominations are very focused on actions and community. Others are all about "submitting to God". If you do that, nothing else matters. In practice, the latter group are extremely authoritarian. Also, they run the Republicans now.

OK, Curtis, I'm your dictator now. Oh, you didn't mean me? You just meant somebody who agreed with you? And you know that such a person could never win an election in a functioning democracy, so you have to seize power using stealth and then declare victory? What a blight.

"processing people into biodiesel" isn't a "joke". It's an insight into his general disgust with humanity.

The general problem here is that Yarvin is yet another tech bro who thinks his knowledge of tech gives him insight into every other aspect of life. It doesn't. His ideas are absurdly simplistic and would not have survived if he'd ever been forced to take ordinary liberal arts courses.
