If it is an illegal order to mobilize the national guard for a nonexistent emergency (unless you consider having the voters elect democrat mayors or governors) it will be up to the commander of the Illinois National Guard to choose whether to obey the governor or an illegal order from the president.

Here’s what I see: A) The vast majority of Dems have coalesced around a morally clear platform. B) The vast majority of elected Dems have coalesced around protecting and pleasing their donors. C) Those two encampments are miles apart.
So, that means a governor can activate his militia to protect his state FROM the federal government. Do I have that correct?
The second amendment guarantees the right to a militia to guard against federal tyranny. But if a president can use that force against its own state, against the wishes of that state, then it is no militia at all and a clear violation of the second amendment.
