I've been paying attention since I was 5 years old. I didn't really have a childhood. My adulthood has been one disappointment after another with politics and government. Now, in my "old age" (55+) I'm finally finding healthy ways to cope. Being "woke" definitely takes its toll.
From first-hand experience: an adult disclosing an autism diagnosis seems to embolden friends and family to disagree with the diagnosis.
Both organizations are corporate entities, not arbiters of culture. Resistance is stupid and futile.

Old magazines can be very useful for all sorts of things. I remember an OG library tool called a "vertical file." It was a vital resource in the days before the internet.
This is truly a disaster. But your kids are looking to you for cues about how to react. Two years after Donald won the 2016 election, one of my daughters ended her life because she was despondent that the U.S. could overcome the damage. Since then I've always regretted not countering bad news.
