This union member (National Education Association) enjoys retirement with a pension negotiated by members who came before me. People who gave of their time to make retirement better for teachers. They continue the fight.

In many US states you have to enroll by age 7 & kindergarten is or was not mandatory but kindergarten & at age 6 by a certain date the summer before enrolling is usually. Public schools don’t necessarily offer preschool programs outside special ed preschool. Some will.
