When he started talking about dying, unprompted, it suggests he got some bad news about his health. Perhaps has congestive heart failure which would explain the swollen legs but he might have had some TIAs or something like that
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
So “President Trump” said it? He said it to you personally. In a press briefing or an interview. You heard him say it. Or, could it be, as your own article states, it was posted to his social media account?
Ron Filipkowski (@ronfilipkowski.bsky.social) reposted
He obviously knows where he’s going.

I brought a bunch of lemongrass plants around and then put a mosquito trap about 20 feet away, and this did seem to help. But the plants alone won’t do it. Plants + trap + DEET spray on you can work pretty well.
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
I completely agree. MAGA is a cult and the one thing true of all cults: they don’t survive removal of the leader
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
My suspicion is perhaps Trump had a stroke. That could be why we didn’t see him for 2-3 days — if he were being evaluated and getting medication — and why he isn’t speaking publicly right now
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
I wonder who in the White House is actually making these declarations
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
It’s happening here. Right now
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
I used to believe that most people were inherently good, and the evil were the exception. Now I think it’s the opposite. Tribalism and quest for power corrupts the morals of most people. The good are the exception
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
I never stopped wearing a respirator in crowded public places and usually the only one or perhaps one of two (except around Druid Hills in Atlanta where CDC is, it’s about 5-10%). I don’t care what people think. If you cough a few times they seem to get it and move away from you
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
It really begs the question of what the opposition party is doing right now to prevent the midterm elections from being stopped or stolen because you can guarantee that’s what’s in the work by the fascists in power

Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
Why don’t you include the percentage of applicants who are accepted? Your chance of getting accepted at those colleges is like 1%. Because the cost is reasonable, everyone from around the globe applies
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
I will scream
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
You do know that it’s his social media manager who does all of that, right?
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
We’ve got to keep hope alive
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
It is utterly amoral to punish children for things their parents did.
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
We’ll have both. The shortages cause the price spikes on whatever does get delivered
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
SpongeBob has far more credibility than Fox News
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
Trump deserves some credit for his cultural pronouncements. It tells us all what places to avoid MAGA. Some are obvious, eg Cracker Barrel, Buckees

I remember when WaPo’s slogan was Democracy Dies in Darkness. Their slogan now is WE ARE THE DARKNESS.
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
Maybe the non-MAGA states could form a compact on everything related to governance in addition to vaccines. And then we could all move there. And then next step, make a separate country and leave the MAGA to their dystopian hellscape of their own making
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
Erick was the original NeverTrumper until he realized MAGA paid better. Too bad his wife and all the rest of us are paying the price for his greed
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
The founders never contemplated that over half the Congress would become fully corrupt as well
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
Yeah. Write me a check. I need my money back from the illegal tariffs from China and Mexico
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
Maybe he needs to take a tour of the BSL4 labs
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
Exactly right. Call, email and visit your House member. Don’t let up. One strategy I use with my MAGA Congressman is I pretend to be a disgruntled MAGA.
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
This is very powerful. Thank you for such an eloquent exposition. Now we need leaders to turn this call to action into actual action. How do we fight back before Civil War II breaks out or, perhaps worse, we sink quietly into a dictatorship?
Steven Beschloss (@stevenbeschloss.bsky.social) reposted
We were warned by Washington, Lincoln and others. Now we must oppose this authoritarian regime, firmly voice our commitment to the Constitution and rule of law—and assert what it means to be American. www.americaamerica.news/p/its-villai...
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
Corporations place limiting liability above all else because their obligation is to shareholders. That’s why the Congress in the past had passed liability shield laws. This is the dystopia Trump and team want. And the Republicans in Congress who are the chief enablers of this
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
If there are limits to access, there will be no viable commercial market, and then there will be no vaccines for anyone
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
I knew that after they banned masks that vaccines would be next. It’s unbelievable how far backwards we’ve gone. Like 1800s.
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
I disagree. I think they do care, and they want us to die
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
I know what I’m praying for.
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
She resisted. Ever notice how many of the courageous leaders are women? These men & women of conscience refuse to follow illegal orders. They may be fired. But being dismissed from your job is hardly the worse thing that can happen. You go on, with your integrity intact. Try it, Congress!
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
Donald Trump’s team did a survey and learned people didn’t like the Covid-19 pandemic, and they translated that to, people want us to pretend the pandemic isn’t happening rather than, people want us to end the pandemic outbreak. And of course the first one is much easier to do, so there you go
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
Previously no proof of high risk was required. Practically speaking how is the pharmacist going to receive your medical record? They don’t have access to it. They don’t have time to deal with gathering records. More likely pharmacies will just stop giving vaccines. Which is what the lunatics want
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
It’s not just kids in school. It’s kids and adults everywhere. They could shoot up your apartment complex that happens to be across the street from the CDC. Your church. Your school. Now we have both domestic terrorists and foreign terrorists to deal with. And MAGA enabling it all.
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
They want fewer people able to vote. It makes it easier to run their schemes. They want people sick. It makes them more vulnerable, weak and dependent. This is no different than North Korea starving its citizens.
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
They are fascists
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
Good for her. Someone is finally standing up to the fascists. Thank you Dr Monarez
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
It’s going to take effective and compelling opposition leaders. Newsom, Pritzker and Kathy Hochul represent 20% of Americans. Maybe the three could join together and form the opposition more formally
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
Vaccines will be just for a few so the rest of us can grovel and beg and only the rich can afford them because insurance won’t cover them
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
All of Cracker Barrel’s logos are bad. It’s not like the new one was gonna win The One Show
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
GREAT POINT. I am just grateful for the resisters at FDA who came up with the risk factors list that is so inclusive (and also not really evidence-based but let’s not mention that part).
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
I swear I don’t know why all the lunatics are in North Carolina now
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
We’re all on our own. Better just get some N95s before they ban those too.
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
Fewer people alive to vote helps MAGA Republicans in their schemes
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
Kids have been within a block or two of so many mass shootings they’re de-sensitized to it. Parents are freaking out and the students are like, Hmm I didn’t hear the gunshots this time, had my headphones on
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
Restrictions based on no evidence whatsoever, you left out that part
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
I expect you can declare you have any of the “high risk” conditions which includes such subjective things as “sedentary.” The question is likely to be if the pharmacy will provide it if your insurance doesn’t cover it
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
Wasn’t Trumpy enough I presume
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
Translation : Privileged people who can afford the vaccine
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
Good thing hurricanes usually hit the blue states — oh wait
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
What’s that got to do with us?
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
You’re a human, you do
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
The kind of amazing thing is the workaround. I hope no one tells RFK that the list of high risk conditions includes nearly everyone. All this does practically speaking is get insurance companies off the hook for paying for it, and it panders to the anti-vaxers. Double win for MAGA!!
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
Let me guess. Young, white, male, MAGA, got the guns from his parents.

Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
Why should vaccines only be for the privileged? Now the GOP corporate cronies in Big Insurance won’t have to pay for all the vaccines.
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
Was the guy actually harmed by a sub sandwich? TBH, I don’t think these snowflakes are making the streets safer
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
RFK demands more evidence that vaccines work (beyond the animal and human trials already conducted), and needs no evidence at all to declare they cause autism.
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
Just be sure to get it when you have a few days off from work and don’t have any commitments
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
Minnesota Nice is just another word for passive-aggressive.
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
Another example of how Trump and his campaign tampered with the election. Ample evidence from local officials, court filings, the FBI and others that the election was attacked. Yet every elected leader just pretends it didn’t happen and goes on as if it’s all normal
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
That even one Democratic senator voted to confirm even one of Trump’s horrific cabinet nominees is an example of how they carry on as if it’s still 1990 and Trump is GHW Bush
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
The fact these morons went to public school and don’t know the difference between capitalism and communism should be making us all have anxiety
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
The new logo sucked and the old one did too. And the food. The ambience. The patrons.

Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
Now in addition to disliking the food, I also think they’re marketing idiots

Lisa Cook should have said, I’m firing President Trump
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
Should have been, your music teacher and your football coach are getting married, LOL

And Trump’s banking fraud is all just okeydokey. We don’t even know that the lady did anything wrong but that’s not the point

It’s becoming clearer: the real fight against Trump isn’t going to come from party leadership in DC; it’s going to come from blue state governors.
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
and everyone else in the family still believes it’s just a cold, right? So sorry for your loss. And the entire tragic situation
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
It was plainly obvious after he extorted President Zelensky and then confirmed after January 6 that Trump is above the law, untouchable. If you believed this up to this year, that’s on you
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
This reminds me of the time my relative had to go to downtown Atlanta during Freaknik. We laughed so hard at this. He wasn’t afraid whatsoever. But it was hilarious

Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
I hope they broadcast the wedding on live TV like Princess Diana and Princess Kate.
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
Cuz Democrats have never had success nominating a moderate, right? Let’s ask Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, Joe Biden
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
We’ll find out when the new batch of Fall vaccine arrives
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
That would be hilarious. Someone should do it
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
Actually is under 65. 65 and over, no conditions required.
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
If you are under 60, you just need to indicate you have one of the high risk conditions. There’s no doctor’s note required. The list includes: asthma and depression. I feel a little wheezy when cutting the grass and lord knows the idea of catching Covid over and over is depressing.
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
It’s tribalism. A tale as old as time. We aren’t going to change that. Without their cult leader, they will crawl back under their rocks where they were from 1969 to 2015 pretending to be members of polite society
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
I was wondering when someone was ever going to tell Trump no or just ignore him when he assumes authority he doesn’t have
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
The Framers did contemplate Trump. It’s in the Federalist Papers. They didn’t imagine a corrupt Congress and Supreme Court who would both side with the traitor President and refuse to uphold the Constitution.
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
Oh good lord. So everyone will be able to just say anything without evidence.
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
“Encroachment on our state’s and city’s sovereignty” Calling it like it is. We need more of this!
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
The fact that they immediately went silent about the “assassination attempt” tells you all you need to know
Elizabeth Pearce (@elizabethpearce.bsky.social) reply parent
I just got finished saying: Governor Pritzker is standing up and calling out the lawless intentions. This may be the next showdown that illuminates how far Trump is willing to go if the states asserts their rightful authority. Is he willing to risk a physical stand-off?
