I hope that the recent spate of Newsom-sniping and the "dark money" knives-out infighting is just storming and norming early on. That this gets worked out before its time to roll up the sleeves for mid-terms and the next national elections (assuming these happen).

Targeted price controls can be managed. Sweeping price controls aren't that clear cut - and very likely unconstitutional if not political suicide. Ignoring the steps that Administration did take to go after some economic segments.
Going down the "border control" rabbit hole was a mistake. Deportations at the border were absolutely up - using Title 42 if I remember right. And yeah - using those metrics to counter MAGA border control narrative was a losing gambit. It was never about the numbers. Trump demonstrates that now.
Nothing Biden did puts us on the path we are on now. Trump came in and pulled the rip cord on economic policy. This is Trump's economy. Sweeping price controls are economically and politically dangerous (if not outright illegal). I'll agree that Biden should have done more. But that isn't it.

I'm not following. The 10 year marker is because redistricting is tied to Census data. We're not looking at redistricting because IT systems can be more granular. It's because there's a midterm and it is statistically and politically worrying to the Trump Administration.
I don't know if "precise" is the word I would use. "Obvious" is my first choice. But even that isn't accurate. We have states that think gerrymandering is fair play. We have states that don't. And now that the polite lie is laid bare - even those who don't agree will now participate.

There's a potential messaging loss being repeated here. Decreased inflation or a "strong economy" doesn't mean folks are feeling economic certainty. Historic decreased crime rates doesn't mean crime doesn't exist. There's a dishonest message jamming in play. But the message has to be careful.
