Now I'm almost entirely on macOS. I don't mind Windows 11 but I only use it at work. I have a few Linux machines for special purposes: an HTPC running Bazzite, an RPi 4 with Batocera, and an Atari VCS 800. But that's it. macOS has been "no muss, no fuss" and the seamlessness among iDevices is sweet.
Most distros don't have good QC because it's a PITA to do that with your components coming from disparate places and having to rely in many cases on rapid bleeding edge release cycles or unpaid volunteers and hobbyists. Mainstream OSs are generally solid now, and most OSS ports fine if you need it.
When my alternatives were essentially: Amiga, OS/2, MacOS (Classic), or Windows 3.1 or 95, I was very happy to use Slackware and even happier to use FreeBSD. Then Windows NT 4.0 changed everything, and Win 2000 after that. And then Mac OS X started to become more stable and usable.
