It’s weird. Streamed “The Morning Show”, much of which is set in the Me too/pandemic years, and was surprised by how much I had compartmentilized the whole thing. In contrast, my son’s fiancé, who was a newly minted ICU nurse in 2020, still has nightmares and has left nursing. It was bad.

We did actually struggle. The difference is our struggles were temporary. There was an end point. If we were frugal, we could save enough for a down payment on a home and pay off our student loans rather than have them loom for perpetuity. It wasn’t easy, but it was achievable. Hardly so anymore.
