Thirty years ago, it was sparsely populated with mostly military. Tourists only visited Destin or Pensacola Beach. A lot of gold diggers moved here during COVID and flooded the area with tourism, paying way too much for homes, putting Airbnbs next door. Our one major road is failing daily. UGH!
